Animal science researcher and professor, Dr. Temple Grandin will speak about her life experiences at “An Evening with Dr. Temple Grandin” presented at Ridglea Theater, located at 6025 Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth, Texas. All proceeds from this event benefit Hope Center for Autism. General admission tickets start at $25 per person and VIP tickets for $125 a person. Tickets can be purchased through the Hope Center for Autism website. Doors for VIP guests will open at 5 p.m. and general admission to this event will open at 7 p.m.

For over 30 years, Dr. Temple Grandin has devoted her life’s work to the study of animals and has become one of the country’s leading experts on animal behaviors, particularly livestock. After being diagnosed with autism at the age of two, Grandin went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Franklin Pierce College, a master’s degree in animal science from Arizona State University and a doctoral degree in animal science from the University of Illinois. She has written numerous pieces on both the study of animal psychology and the study of autism, and has become one of the world’s leading advocates for autism research. Dr. Grandin holds several honorary degrees as well as being named a fellow of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers in 2009. In 2010, she was inducted into the Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Fort Worth, Texas.

Susan Wood, Director of the Hope Center for Autism, says Dr. Grandin’s accomplishments serve as a wonderful example of how individuals can overcome the challenges presented with autism spectrum disorder. “Dr. Grandin gives us all hope to be more. She gives parents an understanding of how they need to parent and encourage their children as her mother encouraged her and pushed for more with her. Parents know they do not need to settle for what the world says their child can do, but teach their child to reach further and be all they can be. Dr. Grandin is truly the ultimate autism success story.”

Individual tickets as well as tables for “An Evening with Dr. Temple Grandin” are available for purchase. Individuals with VIP tickets will receive dinner, cocktails, a signed copy of one of Dr. Grandin’s books and a meet and greet with Dr. Grandin before the event. Those with general admission tickets will receive a copy of one of Dr. Grandin’s books and have an opportunity to have that book signed by Dr. Grandin after the event.
